2016 marks 100 years of service for United Way of Greater St. Joseph.
The agency began in 1916 with the name "St. Joseph Federation of Charity and Philanthropy." A big part of the agency's work from the beginning was to raise money to share with social service agencies already making a difference that could use some extra financial support from the community.
Names, approaches, and partners have adjusted over a century of service, but throughout the agency's history, caring has been a critical motivation for improving area lives.
During this centennial year, United Way celebrates that caring never grows old; today's mission is to improve lives through the caring power of community. United Way of Greater St. Joseph builds on the past, operates in the present, and aims toward the future. This year, please join in serving others through United Way.
