An Initiative of United Way of Greater St. Joseph Since 1989

Improving the education level of the potential and current workforce. 


Through United Way Profit In Education, businesses, agencies, and educators come together and have decreased the high school dropout rate in St. Joseph since 1989. United Way Profit in Education continues to ensure that the community has an educated workforce by working to increase the high school graduation rate even more and by collaborating with and supporting education efforts across the community.

Two programs of United Way Profit In Education are:

Volunteers work with Profit In Education in the following ways:

  • Profit In Education Council
  • Reading with students during Reading Adventures
  • Visiting classrooms to teach students about job opportunities.
