With 2 Weeks Remaining, 2017 United Way Campaign Progress Is Reported

Oct. 19, 2017--United Way supporters gathered over lunch today to hear up-to-date progress of the 2017 United Way Campaign at the Historic Green Acres Ballroom.

During the Campaign, the community aims to raise $3,031,000 by Nov. 2 to improve lives throughout Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. With two weeks remaining, today’s report indicates that $1,502,451 has been pledged so far.

The report meeting was led by volunteer Campaign Chair Ron Auxier. He emphasized that gifts to United Way improve local lives every day, and Kristin White shared how her family has experienced good made possible by people who give to United Way.

Time is drawing short for individuals, businesses and organizations to give to the 2017 Campaign.

“I hope people understand that United Way of Greater St. Joseph has a century-long track record of helping local people meet needs and prevent problems every day,” Auxier said. “Our community decides how to invest donated dollars in Partner Agencies that serve people here, and our community continues to work hard to make sure donated dollars are used well.”

Pledges may be sent to United Way of Greater St. Joseph, PO Box 188, St. Joseph, MO 64502 or delivered to 118 South 5th Street. People are also welcome to call (816) 364-2381 Monday through Friday to make a pledge or to discuss giving options. Click here to give online.

The public is invited to participate in the upcoming conclusion of the United Way Campaign at the United Way Celebration Dinner at Missouri Western Fulkerson Center on Nov. 2 from 6-8:15 p.m. RSVPs are required, and admission is $22 per person. Final results of the Campaign will be announced at the event.
