United Way Leadership St. Joseph
An Initiative of United Way of Greater St. Joseph Since 1982
Building the skills of individuals to be effective leaders in the community
United Way Leadership St. Joseph is an annual, year-long leadership development program for adults who live or work in the St. Joseph area. This program creates a network of trained individuals who are willing to engage in leadership and community courses while cultivating unique skills and an enhanced knowledge of this community's opportunities, realities, and challenges.
In 2021, the classes will be held virtually from 9:00AM-Noon on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month January – October. Due to the holidays, the November class will be held on Thursday, November 18th and the December class will be on Thursday, December 9th. Both the November and December class days will be from 9:00AM –4:00PM. It is our hope that this new, virtual, shorter class day format will afford more flexibility and make it easier for participants and their employers to accommodate this leadership development opportunity and commitment. We cover such topics as education, health, business, arts, social services and community history. Tuition for each participant is $1400.
Class size is limited; only 28 participants are selected each year. The application should be submitted to the United Way offices by mail, email or drop-off.
2021 program information
Leadership St. Joseph is made possible by the work of a volunteer steering committee. The committee works with the Leadership St. Joseph Director to make the program as successful as it can be to create a lasting impact on the participants and on our community.
