United Way of Greater St. Joseph is proud to recognize Sue Kauzlarich as a recipient of the United Way TEAM PLAYER Award, presented in partnership with the St. Joseph Mustangs. Sue will be honored during the St. Joseph Mustangs game on Friday, June 5th, as part of this special recognition celebrating outstanding community volunteers.
The United Way TEAM PLAYER Award celebrates individuals and groups who exemplify the spirit of teamwork by putting others' success first and dedicating their time and talents to strengthening the community. The award recognizes volunteers who make a meaningful impact across local nonprofits and organizations throughout the St. Joseph area.
Sue was nominated by Evelyn Huffman of Freudenthal Hospice for her unwavering dedication and compassionate service to residents and families at Gower Convalescent Center.
For the past eight years, Sue has faithfully served as a volunteer, providing companionship, comfort and support to patients and their families. Through her consistent presence and caring nature, she has become a valued source of encouragement and connection for many residents.
Sue generously gives her time to support activities and special events at the facility, including hosting cookies and tea parties twice each month. These gatherings create meaningful opportunities for residents to socialize, build relationships and enjoy special moments of joy and fellowship.
Whether offering a listening ear, lending a helping hand or stepping in wherever needed, Sue consistently goes above and beyond to enrich the lives of those she serves. Her kindness, generosity and commitment make a lasting difference for patients, families and staff alike.
