United Way of Greater St. Joseph is accepting applications from child care providers for fall 2026 semester scholarships. Teachers in early care and education programs who are pursuing further education in early childhood and intend to remain in the early care and education profession in the St. Joseph region and meet other criteria are eligible to apply.

Scholarships for early care and education providers are a key strategy of United Way Success By 6 and more than $116,000 has been awarded in the past 15 years. "Early childhood educators play an important role in our community," said Bobbie Cronk, Director of Children's Initiatives. "By investing in their education, we're investing in the children and families they serve every day. These scholarships help strengthen our local workforce while supporting educators who are committed to making a difference."

Guidelines and the application may be found at stjosephunitedway.org/scholarship, by emailing bobbie.cronk@stjosephunitedway.org or by calling 816.364.2381. Completed applications must be received by noon on July 16, 2026, for full consideration.

United Way Success By 6 is a community-based movement of public and private partners including business, government, labor, education, child care and parents working together to prepare children to be successful learners when they begin kindergarten.
