You are invited to join United Way PACE (Partners & Agencies Collaborating & Educating), a learning series for agencies in our area. The goals of the learning series are to help increase capacity, aid staff as they are working with clients and improve collaboration. A variety of topics will be offered for all levels of staff.

Upcoming Sessions:

PACE Sessions

  • July 17 at 10 a.m. - The Basics of Addiction and Tips for Working with Individuals with a Substance Use Disorder
    • Presented by Family Guidance Center, this session will cover the basics of addiction, including how addiction starts and progresses over time, as well as strategies from a Peer Support Specialist on how to support and work with an individual with substance use disorder. Narcan and fentanyl test strips will also be available. 
  • August 21 at 10 a.m. - Best Practices and Resources for Serving Survivors of Domestic Violence
    • A panel sharing about local resources for survivors of domestic violence as well as strategies and tips for working with a survivor or someone fleeing a domestic violence situation. 
  • September 16 at 10 a.m. - Banking on Safety - Tools & Tips to Protect Client Finances
    • Learn how to help clients recognize financial scams, protect their money, and explore trustworthy, community-based banking alternatives. Featuring insights from the St. Joseph Police Department, Gertsema Wealth Advisors and Holy Rosary Credit Union.

United Way Resources 101

  • August 5* and November 5 at 10 a.m.
    • These sessions will be offered on a quarterly basis. Each session is geared to new agency staff and will provide them with a base understanding of agencies, resources and services available in the St. Joseph community.
