You are invited to join United Way PACE (Partners & Agencies Collaborating & Educating), a learning series for agencies in our area. The goals of the learning series are to help increase capacity, aid staff as they are working with clients and improve collaboration. A variety of topics will be offered for all levels of staff.

Strategies to Help Clients Attain and Maintain Housing
March 17 at 2 p.m.
A panel including St. Joseph Housing Authority, Family Guidance Center Housing Liaison and Top Hand Property Management. Panelists will share strategies on helping clients attain and maintain housing, tips for working with landlords and property managers and the process for income-based housing.
Understanding Alzheimer's & Dementia
April 16 at 10 a.m.
Learn about the impact of Alzheimer's Disease, the difference between Alzheimer's and dementia, Alzheimer's Disease stages and risk factors, current research and treatments to address some symptoms and community resources.
Communicating Effectively with Individuals Living with Alzheimer's & Dementia
May 19 at 10 a.m.
Learn about dementia's effects on communication, use a person-centered communication approach, and get tips for communicating well with those living with dementia.
Best Practices and Resources for Serving Survivors of Domestic Violence
June 16 at 10 a.m.
A panel sharing about local resources for survivors of domestic violence as well as strategies and tips for working with a survivor or someone fleeing a domestic violence situation.
United Way Resources 101
These sessions will be offered on a quarterly basis. Each session is geared to new agency staff and will provide them with a base understanding of agencies, resources and services available in the St. Joseph community.
